Hello all, i was just hopeing for a little help. I have a 95 yj and I am looking to increase my tire size. I am currently running stock p205s with stock 4:10 gears. I was looking at a 16 in wheel. I guess my question is what is the 16 in wheel equivalent to a 31 in tire? if so what is it? Also, what speedo gear would i need? where would i find one?

Any help would be great.

If you had say, a "31/11.5-16" tire, "16" would denote the wheel diameter the tires is designed to fit,  11.5 the width and 31" the tire diameter.

I use 29" tires and my speedometer seems to function perfectly when compared to GPS mph readings.  31" tires  would throw your speedo readings off a little, but I dunno if its worth the trouble of adjusting your speedometer.

I have a 95 YJ with 31s and stock gears. According to my speedometer , I'm running 50 mph, my GPS says I'm running 55 mph.

I can live with the difference.

I wonder if he wants to know what the Rubi's have.
Rubicon's have the 245/65/16 .  Rubi's are allright, not the best,I've seen better.

An equivalent 31" tire on a 16" rim would be 245/75/16, but this is a slightly narrowed tire than the standard 31x10.5x15.  As for the speedo gear, funny thing is mine is bang on with 31s and 4.10s according to my GPS, but if you need a new gear, i believe the dealerships have them.
