Hey I'm also looking for a skid for my engine, it's a 2.5/ax5. I smashed my oil pan last time out, want to get that pan covered before the next trip out.

I've been looking at the skid row one but man its not cheap, around $250 is the cheapest I've found.

Any benefit from the tranny skid other than gaining 1.5" of ground clearance?

Warn 1/4" is $150.00 but not as strong as 3/16th steel on skid row I hear. Then again Warn is made overseas I think and Skid Row is American Made.  A local welder will do it for $300.00 here though.

I have the WARN skid plate.  I think it was around $250.  Easy to install, and seems to be pretty tough.

TIP : Whatever brand you get just make sure it is for the 2.5L.  The 4.0L and 2.5L have different oil pan drain plug locations.
