I came across this and thought it might help someone thinking about swaping out the D35. In particular, the AMC Rambler models had AMC model 20 axles with the YJ/TJ bolt pattern and about 60" width. The model 20s are known to be pretty good axles with the tubes welded and one-piece axles. I haven't researched any of the others.
