Hey, guys, I need your advice; I got an offer to have a set of 4.88 gears (Yukon) for both the D30 and D25 for $600; is this a good deal? To me, it sounds good (I looked up the price of the Yukon gears, and they are $156.65 for the D35 and $149.83 for the D30 plus shipping at jeepoutfitters.com), but wanted to know what you guys thought...
The reason he is selling them cheap is that he bought it for anotehr Jeep, and then the other guy did not want it...
While I'm getting the gears changed, I thought I'd throw in a Lock Right on the front an either an Ox or an ARB on the rear. What do you think about that combination?
Also, I was thinking about getting a Ford 8.8 for the rear, but wanted to hear what you guys thought about keeping the D35; keep in mind I plan to run 33" tires on mud, posibly with a selectable locker...
By the way, I already got ARB diff covers for the D30 and D35, so these "should" increase the axle strength a bit... I dont buy this marketing crap so much, but it is what they say; I bought the covers because of the raised fill level for the rotated D35, and the dip stick for easier checking for water after going wheeling (so as to not have to remove all the fluid each time because I cannot check it!).
