Anyone going to this? It's on my calender.
June 8, 2008 from 10 am - 3 pm at Big Pocono State Park near Tannersville, PA
Spring will be here before you know it! It's time to plan for the 9th annual Great Willys Picnic and car show. All vehicles are welcome: stock, modified, projects, CJs, Wagons, Trucks, Jeepsters, Military, Cars, and even GPW's! Every pre-1970 Willys vehicle is eligible to win contests and door prizes. We will have a people's choice contest and an informal swap meet (items for sale in back of vehicles only - no tables allowed). Bring your Willys memorabilia and interesting parts for show and tell. Be sure to arrive early because at 3:00 PM the contest winners are announced and the prizes are awarded. Then we will have a Willys parade of vehicles driving around the park loop road for all visitors to see.
The Picnic is always free. There are plenty of barbecues, picnic tables and trees - bring your own lunch or visit the nearby Cameltop restaurant for burgers and hot dogs. Big Pocono State Park is on top of the mountain above Camelback Ski Area. It offers magnificent views of eastern Pennsylvania and portions of New Jersey and New York. For those members of the family who are not interested in Willys vehicles there are 7 miles of hiking trails in the park. At the base of the mountain is Camelbeach Waterpark and The Crossings factory outlet stores.
