Topic: TPS problem

Im having problems with my idle, and a slight misfire at partial throttle. autozone.com says that my TPS output voltage should be between 4.6 and 4.7 volts at wide open throttle. Mine was 2.33 at WOT - So I loosened the torx screws and tried to adjust the TPS. Now I cant get a reading over 1.20 volts at WOT. So, I took the TPS out of the throttle body, and plugged it into the harness and tested it. I used my thumb to spin the TPS all the way to WOT and still cant get over 1.22 or so. Is my TPS just junk?  Anyone know how to test the TPS by itself, not plugged in? Thanks for the help!

I started the jeep up with the TPS unplugged, and the jeep seemed to run the same without it...

(PS. The input voltage is at 5 volts just like it should be)

Okie doke... I just ordered a new one and it will be here tomorrow. Thanks guys!

I put in my new TPS and now my voltage is exacly where it should be. There is still a misfire around 2500rpm under light load. If i give it alot of gas, it doesnt do it. New plugs/wires/cap/rotor/TPS... What else could it be?

I imagine you checked all conections to make sure nothing is loose, right?  And can you describe the misfire?  Is it a backfire, pre-detonation, or sounds like the engine is out of fuel?  The reason I ask is that my 4-popper used to cough a bit when it was hot outside and it was under load, and it turned out to be a bad fuel pump...
