Turn signal problem
« on: October 18, 2008, 10:10:49 AM »
I'm chasing electrical gremlins today. :brick:  My left turn signals work OK until I turn the running lights on, then they stop blinking (left side marker off).  Hazard signals (emergency flashers) work good for all lights.  The right turn signals work fine, even when the lights are on.   I've checked/changed all the bulbs, put deoxit (elctrical cleaner) on all bulb connections, made sure the turn signal flasher and turn signal fuse are seated properly, and cleaned the left ground connection up by the radiator.  With the lights off, I've noticed that the right signals blink noticably faster than the left signals.  I'm about ready to order a new turn signal switch (39.99 at quadratec) but I want to make sure I didn't miss a basic issue before I go there.  The flasher is common to both the right and left, so I don't think it's the problem.  Any other things to check before replacing the switch?
