Is the 2.5 and 4.0 the same tube on the TJ?

I don't know, that one is off a 4.0L

I use Royal Purple in everything I own. Filters, I use Bosch in my YJ and S-10, Mopar in my Intrepids. With the prices rising so much (Royal Purple and Edge are about the same price around here $8.70 a Qt.) I am looking into using something else. I have heard that Valvoline synthetic is pretty good. I will stick to a synthetic, no dino stuff, better all the way around.  As much money that we have in our vehicles, the high cost of synthetics and any maintenance for that matter, is still pretty cheap. If it will make it run better and last longer and make you feel better about yourself, it's worth it.

No, the 4.0 tube is about 4 inches shorter than the 2.5's. Don't ask me how I know.

As far as filter and lube go... I use the mopar filters they sell at Wal-mart along with Mobil 1. Never had a problem with the mopar filters.
02 2.5.L automatic: 4.0L t.b., 4.0l air intake, K&N filter, Scream'n Demon coil, 8.5mm MSD Super Conductor plug wires, Stage 1 Jet Chip, 29" BFG all terrain KO's. Taurus E-fan, Hummer front bumper, Skyjacker high capacity trans pan, 48" hi-lift, Rubi susp w. 3/4" BB.

HHMMmm. 4 inches shorter might work. I moved the motor 4 inches forward. I'll start looking around.

I didn't look long enough to even see that. I just hate clicking a link to find out I have to register to find anything, what's the point in posting it?

most filters have basically the same makeup/  the only thing to think about is make sure you have a check back valve filter if you dont park flat/  i park the wj on a little side hill most of the time and had a fram on it and you could here it pumping dry from the filter being drained out/  i use mopar filters on everything and have no problems/  plus with a yj/xj/zj/wj  in my driveway they all take the  same filter and oil which is awesome for bulk buying/  i have always run castrol and am now thinking of changing just for the price cause it is getting ridiculous
