I work at a machine shop in sales. We reverse engineer parts all the time. The only thing that restricts us is patents. Other than that if you bring us a part we can reverse engineer and build you a replica.
The design isn't rocket science, in fact if I wouldn't have been so lazy I would have pulled ming and made a new one with some flat bar.
