Jeep finished....for a while!
« on: January 01, 2010, 08:33:44 PM »
So all that I have left to do for a while is put on some diff protection when i change the oil and waiting on my heavy-duty tie rod and drag link to come.

new front bumper.

new rear bumper and CB ant.

new HD trac bar and Kilby steering box skid.

new Kilby gas tank skid.

new 3" BDS springs.

so here's what she looks like now. I'm getting used to the white lettering on the tires (kinda old school).

Next to do in 2010 is Full Cage and Rear Axle upgrade. 8.8 or D44. If I have enough money a D44 up front.

I'll probably start thinking about a long arm kit as well.

Looking sweet, now why bother with a longarm suspension?
Unless you want to run 6" springs there really isn't a lot of advantage to a long arm suspension. Sure hasn't held me back, for axles if you are not going to gear lower than 4.88 then a 8.8 or dana 44 in the back and a Dana 30 HP in the front is more than adequate for tires up to 35".
My little put put works very well this way and has tackled anything I have thrown at it so far and has been very reliable.
Your Jeep has come along way in the last year, seem to me it's becoming time you venture out to Cougar Buttes and at least run the Bullfrog trail before spring is over.
You'll love that trail a lot more fun than Cleghorn

Mine has about 4" lift and 35" tires and works very well like that wheelbase right now is about 94,5" would like more but don't want to hack to much on this Jeep.
Scott's Jeep has about 3" lift and 33" tires
