Checking power steering fluid.

In the "old days" I was taught that you always checked the power steering fluid level with the engine running. Does this hold true for my '01 TJ?

I don't think it matters when the 'tank' is a separate from the pump.

If you look on the dipstick you will have marker lines for when the engine is cold and one for when the engine is hot
