Wrappin up the project, some final (ya right) questions...
« on: April 02, 2010, 04:24:05 PM »
1. Well, as i was bolting the tranny skid plate back on, i noticed how the bolt holes in the skid plate looked nearly as big as the bolt heads that hold it on. And sure enough, one bolt popped through the hole. So i said heck with that, and scrounged up some bolts and washers and tossed the stock (over engineered) setup.
Is this normal?

2. One of my hoses at the power steering pump is leaking. Looking over the drivers fender at the pump, its the lowest hose that enters the pump.
The hose just pulls right out. Looks as though its a pressed in hose with an oring. But it damn sure fits rather loose in there.  ???

Thats all for now. Any thoughts....?  :smokes:

2. put a clamp on the hose, it should have been one there (i'm assuming is the feed or return otherwise would pop right out due to pressure).

really, i should load a pic. But a clamp wont work. Its the metal nipple that presses into the pump. Then the hose clamps to the nipple. No matter. I gnarled it up and pressed it in. :)

Dont worry about those 2 orings. I assume someone tried to stop the leak by adding orings.  :fish: Those i just pushed back out of the way.
The hose is pushed in, in the pic.

so is the actual metal elbow coming out of the pump? if that's the case i have no idea. you are missing the clamp on the hose going on that elbow, mine has one there.

Ya. the metal elbow came out of the pump. They are pushed in i bet. And some 'jenius' prolly tried to rotate the elbow at some point.

The other clamp is hidden behind my finger.
