Topic: Not sure if I need to shim my rear end

I installed an SYE and replaced my skid plate bolts with short bolts to get rid of the spacers. I installed a 1 inch lift BrownDog motor mount also.
The difference between the top measurement (18 3/8) and the bottom measurement (18 1/2)  is 1/8 of a inch difference. Will a double cv drive shaft take care of that or do I need to install a 2 degree shim and still use a double cv shaft?

I've got a 2.5" sys lift and 1" BL on 33's.

your pinion/yoke axis should have the same angle as the driveshaft or a bit under (like a degree or 2) - take a pic from under the left rear fender.

I tried running mine w/o shims but the drive shaft angle was too sharp and I got some bad vibrations. I'm up on a 4" lift though.

SYE's are designed to use a CV style rear driveshaft (double-cardan).  The Yoke included with the SYE is specific to a CV driveshaft.

You want the pinion inline with the driveshaft and use a CV shaft.
