162500 miles. had a valve job a few years before i got it but the previous owners lack of maintenance did take its toll, ol leaks blow by low compression... although considered its doing great for how it was treated. but it still goes pretty good and doesn't give up.

2000 SE, over 135k miles now.  It still starts up every time, runs like a champ, and gets me where I want to go.   :thumb:

163K on the '85 CJ7, bought a few months ago.  Motor is stock except for the rebuilt carb I just installed.  She's slow, but seems to be OK.  Tranny drips a little when I park.  I'll have to crawl under and check for something loose, or maybe some new seals.  The 4" suspension lift rides rough.  It was on the Jeep when I bought it.  I'm not so sure it's a good thing.

None.  Still original factory motor, I'm hoping to clear half a million.   8)

I guess I should also mention that I just recently switched up to 235/75 for tires from 215/75 so the figures may be just a hair off but only for the last few weeks.

you can probably go in the Guiness book of records for the longest running amc 2.5L, i think you're the only one to achieve that.

EDIT: when did you buy it (how many miles it had on)?

That is very impressive.  JP magazine once mentioned a YJ with 350k on the original motor, still being used for wheeling.  They also mentioned that the 2.5 seems to last even longer than the 4.0.

My '95 YJ has just under 90K right now although the Car Fax report does have a discrepancy so it might be more.

My folks bought it about 4 yrs ago with somewhere in the neighborhood of 317K on it.  Came with complete service history.  I bought it from them beginning this year.  Since they acquired it we've run only Amsoil in it as I'm a dealer.  When I hit 500K I'm gonna see if Amsoil will run an article on it.
