More Injector Questions
« on: January 03, 2012, 09:28:55 AM »
I know it's been covered a thousand times ('cause I read almost all of them), but I've got a question about an injector swap.  According to the chart, the Bosch -203 injector flows slightly more than the stock YJ unit.  Apparently everyone (except me) has installed the 943/939 injectors, but has anyone actually tried the 203s?  I'm planning on a homebrew CAI, 4.0 (or possibly bored out) throttle body, and some 1.7 roller rockers.  Seems like the 203s would be a good fit with stock fuel pressure.  Any thoughts?

i'm too lazy to look, can you post the specs (flow at what pressure). Keep in mind that the YJ is 39psi so injectors that flow 18lb/hr at 43.5 psi are slightly less than the 17.2 at 39psi spec on the YJ injectors. Also make sure they are high impedance and that the connector is EV1 (you can use adapters if different for the connector, the impedance needs to be high as there's no easy way around it unless you make some electronic contraption to drive the low impedance injectors).

EDIT: looks like these are high impedance (assuming you are talking about the 0-280-155-203) and dunno what connector (but you could use an adapter if different). The rating is 18.8lb/hr but I cannot find the pressure for the rating so would be uncertain what the flow is at 39psi, unless you can find the actual pressure would be just guess work.

According to the chart, the 203 is rated @ 17.6lb/hr@36.25psi which would be 18.25lb/hr@39psi if my math is correct.  Seems like I remember reading in another thread that in the p/n, the -150 represented what connector it had.  If this is true, it should use the same connector (EV1?) as the 943/939s that are so popular.  Just wondering if anyone has a ref. manual that says what vehicle(s) these came on.  And yes, another source I found showed it as 14.25ohms.

that would work fine as far as flow and they are EV1, it's probably worth a shot if you want to experiment and if they're cheap enough
