The further I get from chicago the better the waves are recieved. Therefor the ratio of yuppies decreases. Nuff said!!!

Indeed, I live on the North Side, and never have waves returned. I was astounded and pleased to see that driving down around Joliet I didn't even have to initiate, every Jeep waves.  I expect that when I move to AZ next month, the crowd is a bit different than the Chicagoans.

Hmm, I live in the middle of Pirate country (the real pirates not the internet wannabe's) and no one has flipped me off.

Are you talking about the butt pirates in your area??  I'll bet you'll get a phone number if you wave..... :P

Yeah, lets see who helps you on the Rubicon...

My weezer-mobile would never make it out that far....I bet there's alot of "tail pipe" damage out there....

Just got home from a 284 mile cross country trip, Wy - Id, today. Waved at 8 Jeep 4x4s of all types and only one didn't wave back. He had a look on his face like he had been eating rocks. Find I get the best wave returns when I make eye contact, smile, and wave. The wave that made the trip all worth while was the wave I got in return from a fox of a chick in a YJ within the first 20 miles.

Hope her trip went well and safely also.

Livin' here in the mountains, it's sometimes hard to seperate the "country wave" from the "Jeep wave"........one of the things I loved about moving here - everybody waves to each other!!!!  If they're driving a Jeep, I consider it a "Jeep wave"!  But, travelin' around, it's about 50-50...........but I still keep on wavin'.............only way to keep the tradition alive.

I only wave to YJ and CJ drivers.  TJ people might get a wave, if an obvious leaf spring conversion has been done.  Wave from me may also happen if they've done the right thing, showed respect for the senior YJ design and opted to fit a YJ grill on their TJ.

But, even then, with all that, a wave from me is not guaranteed.     kidding

(And, CJ grill on TJ won't fool me)

In Boulder Colorado, wranglers are very common, it seems like every other car on the road is a wrangler and the wave is very "uncool" here.  In the summers when I am in Northern Minnesota and jeeps aren't so common I wave and get waved at.

Ironically here in Yuppyland aka Southern Cali. I get quite a few waves from fellow Jeepers the exceptions seeming to be Girls driving them because they're cute and Hard top equiped Sahara TJs.

After I got my 89YJ most Jeep owners have been waving, I just thought they were impressed with my rig because it was a pretty Jeep and turns a few heads. One evening I went to Autozone for some oil and my alarm remote kept alerting because I have a Viper 5000 with Invisashield which alerts when someone gets to close. When I went outside I had a crowd of motor heads gathered around my Jeep! It was a great feeling after you spend your time and money building up your rig.
