95 2.5 no start after tranny install
« on: March 31, 2014, 07:06:38 PM »
Looking for the simple before I start digging into the troubleshooting. I had 5th gear explode on me a while back. Pulled tranny(which I had rebuilt last year) and replaced the 5th gear set. I just got it reinstalled a few days ago and went out of town before I could check it out. Tonight I went to start it and all it does is crank. No attempt to fire.
Before getting any deeper into it, can anyone think of something I might have knocked loose sticking the tranny back in?
The only thing in the engine bay I disconnected was the battery. Everything else was done laying on my back under the little jewel. The only wires I disconnected were the reverse light, speedometer, and the vacuum lines to the transfer case. Started and ran fine before this. It hasn't been started or run since some time in January. I hear the fuel pump kick in when the key is turned on. CEL doesn't come on, but is probably either burned out or the previous owner took it out like he did other things.
Where is the best place to start?

Answered my own question. Looks like I did an idiot thing and pulled the transmission without disconnecting the CPS. Apparently the CPS is unable to function wirelessly.

That's what it is right now. Not even a hint of a wire. Oh well. If you can't laugh at yourself, you take these moments too seriously.
