Need Frame Measurement
« on: February 12, 2015, 09:57:44 AM »
I was hoping someone could give me the measurement that I need in the attachment.   I need the width of the frame 'A" and the depth from the from of the frame to the cross over pipe "B".   I an installing a bumper made for me by Natesoffroad.com and I need to weld a small 1 inch square box on the back side of the bumper to restrict my safety cable from moving to much.  The safety cable goes into the squiggle hole next to the D ring.  I want to make sure this small metal box will not interfer with installing the bumper.

Thank you,

AWK

The outside width of the frame rail (dimension A) is 2 9/16" (65 mm).

The distance from the leading edge of the frame rail to the forward edge of the cross member tube is 3/4" (19 mm).

Since the tube is hollow, you could remove a piece for clearance and weld in some reinforcement.

Thanks for taking the time!  I think I will have enough room.   Now to figure out what winch I need!

I read a 9000 lb. winch torture test article from MoabJeeper awhile back.  Warn and Superwinch were the standout products, with Warn made in the USA and best supported, but also the most expensive.  Harbor Freight was the "low budget" product of choice.  I went with a Superwinch from 4x4groupbuy.

This is a bit dated, but still a good read for anyone shopping for a winch.
