Hey Guys...

Well, I am new here, so I thought I might make a topic introducing myself...

My name is Danny, and I live in North Texas and I just recently got my first car, a '93 Jeep Wrangler.  I am excited.  I haven't driven it much since I only have my learners permit and we don't have anyplace fun to go to...but I am looking at cleaning it out and making it look a bit better.  I removed the carpeting from the floor and was about to spray it down, when I noticed that there was a set of wires running to my soundbar and that most of the circuits are exposed underneath...I was wondering what I need to do.  A sandbag busted in the back and now there is a fine coating of sand on most of the floors.  We vaccumed most of it up and it needs a good hosing, but I don't want to do any damage.  Any suggestions? Or am I just worrying too much and it can handle a hose?

By the way, I don't know much about my Jeep, (unlike most of you guys who know all of the technical terms), so please keep it simple, hahaha.  All I know is that it has a 2 inch lift kit, manual transmission, a snorkel, and it is the prettiest thing I have ever seen...

I got it for 4500 with a new transmission and about 65k miles and a new paint job...quite a deal!  Only issue that I have had is that I had to replace the fuel pump about a week ago, that cost me about 400 bucks...

Thanks for any help you can give me!

A CAR?! A CAR?!!!

Hahaha Just kidding around.
I agree with Mozman on this one, Would be best to call it a Jeep, or Wrangler, or even YJ, sense that is your model jeep.

If there are any bare wires (showing copper) or of you see any connections or fuses exposed, I would avoid getting that wet, But sounds like they just ran the wires under your carpet and up your roll bar for your speakers. Keep the keys out and don't blast you dash with the hose and you will be fine. it can handle a little splashing.
Its good that you where worried about it and didn't just blast every thing with out looking into it more.

congrats on your new JEEP! just wait tell you put your first mod on it and go off roading, you will be hooked and never want to go back to that car stuff! :D

Danny, sounds like a great first vehicle.  My first vehicle was an 83 Jeep and since I figure you will be using it as an everyday driver I got a quote for you that might help you out.  "You play hard you pay hard"  famous words by my Dad about an hour after my first big off road mistake.  This doesn't mean don't play hard, just consider yourself warned.

Danny,

Welcome to the site. There is lots of good info here and some great people.

Your close to DFW so another site / club you might be interested in is the Lone Star Jeep Club. Come check us out and your welcome to tag along on some events or come to our meetings.

Too bad though, I only have a learners permit for now (I am but 15) and my mom would have to go with...to say the least she doesn't understand what is so much fun about a Jeep...

Your close to Gilmer, Nocona, Clayton OK and Hot Springs AR.  Our club is always going to one of these places. Even though your 15, come on out with your mom, we are a family club. There are younger people who are members and lots of parents.

If you would like to check out some of Gilmer or Nocona, here is a link where I have some video.

Have fun in Moab ... Our local club is going to Moab in Sept & Hot Springs (Superlift Park) in Nov.  Are you a member of the Southern High Rollers there in Houston? They come up to Gilmer every once in a while and seem like good people.
