Hey everybody. My name is Josh. Currently stationed in South Korea in the Army. I have been over here for two and a half years and fortunatley only have about thirty days left. The only good thing about being over here is the ability to save money to put towards the Jeep. The Jeep has been sitting in PA at my dads house since I have been here, getting all kinds of new additions. Wish I could have been there to do it myself but hey I will be coming back to a pretty nice Jeep. I am heading to Fayetteville, NC so if there is anybody in that area I would be glad to go wheeling with you upon my arrival....

Found this site about two weeks ago and so far love it.  I have a 97 TJ and have just got back into 4wheeling in the past 18 months.  Used to back in high school with a couple of CJ's (mostly just blasting through deep mud).  Now doing some moderate rock terrain.  Running 33's with a total of 5" of lift and a few decent performance upgrades.  Going to spend the next couple of weekends installing all my new Jeep goodies; new gears, lockers, winch, bumpers, and engine performance parts (sounds like a lot at once but I am getting married so I figured I should do what I wanted before she has a clue how much it cost me).  Can not wait to hit the trail in a couple of weeks.

Been lurking around here for quite awhile, but didn't register until much later, and didn't post until now.  This forum is great, and filled with lots of great info.  Many thanks to the owner of the site, and the contributors.

I live down in Houston, and run with Cypress Offroad, and am a member of TX4WD.  I drive a '97 Wrangler with the 2.5, AX5, etc..

Mods so far:
4" Rough Country Suspension Lift, Sway bar quick disconnects, 4.88's, Detroit Tru-Trac in the front and rear, 33x12.50 BFG Mud T/A's on 15x10 rims, some lights, some tow points, Neoprene Seat covers, Sound Bar, etc. etc..

I'm ultimately planning on getting some 38's under the Jeep, but due to budget it's a slow moving project, and I'm taking baby steps.  Planning axles swaps, rock protection, winch, first.

Thanks again, and here are some pics of the Jeep:

I am 16 years old and looking into starting an auto technician course soon
and at the end of august, I will be going to Moab for 2 weeks :)

I acquired the Jeep in August of 05 (it was in like-new, bone stock condition at the time) but since its been offroad countless times and quite so modified (nothing major though)

heres pics and such of it: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2075185

Hi everyone. Just bought my first 4 banger this past Friday. It's a silver 02 with auto trans    In the past I've had an 86 with a 6" coil conversion and a 2000 4.0 liter sport with a 3" lift and 33's. My name is Jason and I'm from Northeast Pennsylvania. I have done no mods to this new Jeep as of yet but I do have plans. Just a little confused as to what to do mod wise with the auto trans in it. I'll post pics of my new baby as soon as I get a chance.
02 2.5.L automatic: 4.0L t.b., 4.0l air intake, K&N filter, Scream'n Demon coil, 8.5mm MSD Super Conductor plug wires, Stage 1 Jet Chip, 29" BFG all terrain KO's. Taurus E-fan, Hummer front bumper, Skyjacker high capacity trans pan, 48" hi-lift, Rubi susp w. 3/4" BB.

Mozman, it was mostly the cash supply at the moment. My wife and I just bought a home so economic wise, it was a better deal for us. After reading some posts on this forum I am looking into a Jet performance chip in the near future.

Hello,

I have been lurking for a while reading old posts, and only recently registered.  Last month I purchased a 2002 TJ 2.5L to replace my 1999 XJ that was totalled in a rear end collision.  I actually bought the four cylinder on purpose; I will have a son with a learner's permit in a few years and I wanted to start him out "slow."

Over the years I have owned a '73 CJ5, '66 J200, '99 XJ, '04 WJ (wife's current grocery getter), and now the '02 TJ.  It is a ton of fun to drive and I am always amazed at how much more refined it is than previous SWB Jeeps.  Mine is equipped with AC and CC - downright pretentious!

I live on the Outer Banks of NC, so if any of you are heading this way to run the beach give me a holler and maybe we can ride together.

I'm new here too. I'm 18, drive a '86 Cherokee that I just got for $750. No lift, exhaust is full of holes, and the engine knocks so I'm getting ready to pour some money into her. In a couple months it's going to be pretty exciting, right now I'm shopping for a replacement engine to build - I think I might just get one from a junk yard and go from there.

Hi everybody,
So glad to find this forum. Im in the middle of a 4 banger build up with my 89 yj. So far I got SOA, AA SYE, 8.8 with discs, and a herculined tub. I am lookin to get a dana 44 for the front so I can run at least 5:13 gears but till I get a front end I am still runnin 4:10s. Its a work in progress so I have not decided on tires yet. I will either run 35s or 36s as this is not my daily driver.  I am a college student so money is short. Someday I will do an engine swap and in the very near future I plan on swapping out my 2.5 inch pro crap springs for some waggy springs. I live in south west Florida so if any body around my area wants to get together for some wheelin just let me know. Also if anyone has any suggestions on my build up I would like to hear them
