Well, I was referred to this site by one of the guys over on JF.com. . . I just picked up what I've been told is "the cleanest YJ around/in the state/in the country" lol
Anyways, it's an '88 Wrangler 2.5 (obviously) 5 speed, only rust is some light surface rust on the windshield frame, as well as some that has formed in a couple of scratches that are referred to as "Previous Owner's Jealous Ex-Girlfriend Scars". There is a crack in the tailgate from 123k miles with a 31" spare on the stock mount. . . Other than that, the Jeep is solid. No rust on the frame, not even surface rust on the floor pans, no replaced sheet metal. I'm looking for a new tailgate, and I'll start working on repairing the rusted panels and repainting them. The previous owner installed some pretty unique "dome lights"/interior lights. They look like small license plate lights attached to the dash directly below the speakers, and they are wired up to the dome light knob. They were also wired to the door switches, but I cut the wire when they started turning on even with the doors closed, not to mention, the doors will be off most of the time up until winter hits.
The beautiful part of it all? FULL COVERAGE Insurance with a $500 deductible is $30/month. That includes roadside assistance and free towing, as well as rental coverage. If anything happens to the Jeep, it will be towed to a body shop, professionally repaired, and while it's being worked on, I'll be driving around in a free rental car. . . I'm absolutely amazed at the coverage I was able to get on the Jeep. My Firebird costs twice that for PL/PD, no collision coverage, no roadside assistance, nothing. Just the bare minimum to keep it legal costs me $60.11/month on that car. . .
I'm still in shock at what kind of deal I got on this thing. I was in shock when I was able to get the Jeep up to 70 on the highway on the way home. . . I had to put it in 4th when going up any kind of hill, but for the most part, I was right around 70-75mph on the highway the whole way home. My last YJ ('88 2.5 5 speed as well, 48k original miles) topped out at 65, unless going downhill with a tailwind, then I could hit 71. It could be the 31's on this one though, the speedometer could be off a little bit.
Anyway, here are some pics!
