Greetings from Southern Oregon.  I finally got my Wrangler after wanting one for so long.  Its a 1995 YJ with the good old 2.5.  I am apparently the 7th owner and am ready to start banging my head at the options to hop it up.

I am just looking at  making it a peppy daily driver that will go most places I decide to go.  If you know anything about Southern Oregon, you know that can be quite a task.

I look forward to the years of building and rebuilding. Hopefully this will be my one place to go for rebuilding info.

Thanks.

Howdy,

I'm new to the forum but not new to wheelin'.  I have been a member of the mailing list for the 4bangers for many years and I've been wheelin' since I bought my first Jeep '99 Cherokee.  Which we liked so much we decided 6 moths latter to trade our Nissan 4x4 p/u in on a '99 Tj.  Wheeled in Moab in '01 and Idaho and Washington in '99, 00 and 01 and of course right here at home in Portland, OR.  Haven't been out in a long time with the price of gas and now that my baby is getting old.  :(

My TJ is a 4 banger manual with a 2" spacer lift, gas tank skid, side bars and a power steering skid.

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Nick and I have had a 92 Jeep Wrangler for about a year now. I have had to put a LOT of work into it due to the last owner neglecting it. Rebuilt the rear frame and some of the front frame from rot, new head gasket, starter (after 2 days of owning it) and right now I am repainting the beast a gunmetal grey color. I cut out all the rust and welded in 20 gauge sheet metal and she came out pretty well for a first timer. I am treating the frame and under side of the tub with POR 15 and the inside of the tub with Herculiner. Repaired the driverside floor from rot.

Now the fun stuff.

I installed the 4.0 throttle body and after installing the housing for one of the sensors it dropped down from 4500 rpm to normal rpm.
When I was doing the head gasket I ported and polished the head. The shop had to plain down the head 15 thousands to get it flat again.
With the head off I ported out the intake manifold as well as the exhaust manifold and on the intake I matched up the TB plenum opening. Lots of carbon built up on the valves, springs, rockers and pushrods so I cleaned them all up and reset the valves for proper seal.
New Raptor muffler because the old one rusted in half.
Double platinum plugs.
MSD ignition coil.

I think that is all for now and I will post plenty of pics later.

Forgot to say in my last comment that my Jeep is a 4 banger (haven't sent in for the attachment kit yet to make it a v6) (Sarcasm) I have 31s and a 2.5 lift from frame to body.

Hey, Guys amd Gals ?    I'm new here, But not to Jeeps.  I've been wanting to register here for a long time now and was finally able to thanks to Jeffy on Jeepforum.   I love my 4banger Jeeps that I have owned in the past .  I am currently Jeep-less but thats until the spring and when I will be  getting another 4banger YJ or TJ.

My first Jeep was a 98 TJ se  It was stock for about a week before It went under the knife.  Then it was treated to a 4" lift, Sye, 4.88's F&R lockers and 33's. over a period of a year or so.   About 2 years after I bought the TJ it had  decided the s # 3 piston  looked better outside of the block.   I had a long block installed in it that was bored .30 over,  and had a Mopar Purple Cam in it with Yella Terra rockers , and a Pacesetter header and 19# ford injectors , 4.0TB and spacer, Intake manifold was bored to match tb opening, eletric fan convierson.  Which really brought it to life.   Sadly I was unable to enjoy it for much longer after that because of financial issues .   I had sold the TJ for 3,000 more than I owed the bank and picked up a XJ that I had hated with a passion I had the XJ for 6months and stumbled upon a 95YJ se for sale for $2400  so I bought that and sold the XJ.    The YJ was modified over a few years  with a 4.5" RE Xd lift, 1" bl, 4.88 gears and lockers with a XJD44 swap in the rear, SYE, and 33's, 4.0TB/spacer, Intake manifold was ported to match the tb, and a eletric fan .  I had it parked for a a year after I moved to TX from Md and got out of Jeeping.  I sold the Jeep last year and have been lost ever since.  Now I am living in Utah about 2hrs north of Moab .  So I've been saving for a Jeep to get me back in the saddle again.

Hello all my Name is Jeremy but EVERYONE calls me Catfish. I used to belong to this board and just recently got back into modding my 97' TJ. It has the 4 angry squirrels with an AX-5 and 4.10 gears. Has a 2" BL and 2" lift in the rear with a  2.5" lift in the front to level everything out. 33/12.50'a on 15x8 black rockcrawlers wheels. Recently changed my exhaust from the Head to the rear. Added some "flush mount" looking tail-lights http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ140519227711. Oh and trimmed my stock flares by 1.5" Other than the obnoxious tick tick tick she runs like a champ and takes me where I want to go.
