Brand new to the forum.  Just bought my first Jeep, and som far am LOVING it.  2000 TJ, 2.5L, 5 Speed, 4.11, 4" lift, 31x10.5x15 on custom wheels, custom bumpers, Ramsey winch, rocker guards, trail lighting.  Looking for NEW toys to add on a daily basis.  Some aggressive 33's appear to be the next investment.  In Little Rock, AR.

I came across this after a link to a FI thread was posted on the yahoo 4-bangers group.  My Jeep and I hail from Billings, MT, along with my wife/kids, and her 98 4.0L XJ.  We're members of Magic City 4-Wheelers, and really enjoy wheelin' up in BigSkyCountry, although I miss greatly my old stomping grounds in Central Arizona.

My rig:  94 YJ
Mods:  2.5" OME suspension lift / 1" Daystar BL / 1" homebrew shackle lift / CAI / 32x11.5 BFG AT on Panther EMR211s / homebrew rock rails (w/ steps) / homebrew rear bumper (swingout being built now to house gerry can + 20lb CO2 tank and up to a 40" tire).  Front stubby bumper is partially built as well, but next year plans call for going back to my OE YJ springs on a SOA (either 1/2 ton Chevy front/rear ends, or straight to a D60/14-bolt combo), moving to 37s and dropping the small block that is currently sitting in the donor vehicle in my buddy's backyard.

Eventually, I want to build a 6-point cage, but need to make sure the soft top will still go on with it.

Newbie to site...not to Jeeps.

Ive been rebuilding CJ-5s and 7s with Chevy and AMC V8s for quite a while.  Got away from it for 8 or nine years.  This last Jan.  I picked up a 99 TJ 2.5.  It had 35s, susp. lift, 3" body lift, aftermarket exhaust and intake, and it only had 53k miles on it.  Checked it out pretty good, and it was surprisingly tight.  Looks like someone just over built it and then got tired of it.  Took off the body lift, and went down to 33s anf she pulls fine. ...I think it may have also already been regeared.   Ive been able to follow all the I6s and other 4x4s on the trail with no probs.

I was doughtful at first, but I really like the lil 4banger!  Nice forum guys...I'll see ya round... 8)

Hello every one.  I have just recently purchased a 1990 YJ 2.5L.  In the 5 days I have owned it I have found a new respect for the 4 cyl engine.  I purchase the Jeep with the intention of replacing the motor with something bigger.  After taking the jeep out to play I realized there is no need to change this wonderful little engine.  So I was on line looking for ways to get some more Top End power without getting a bigger engine and happened onto this website.  Browsing the forums I learned more about my Jeep in one hour than I expected.  So I decided to join.  I have found that here in Idaho owning a Jeep is like owning a motor cycle.  Every time I pass another Jeep the drivers wave to me.

DC has even started to market this and advertise it in there catalog, but its always been around!

Welcome to the jeep family and 4banger website!

I'm new to the site, and I just bought my fist Jeep Wrangler a couple months ago.  I am now the proud owner of a 2006 Wrangler with a 2.4L.  Went small but with plans to uprade more later.  Right now it's still pretty much stock though.

Good to know that there is a specific site for the 4 hole'r Jeeps!

I have a '00 that's all stock and is going in for winter surgery, the doner parts off a '06 Rubi.  I have the wheels & tires, track arms, skids, bumpers, flairs, suspension, and a bunch of other stuff that has less than 40 miles on it.  Now I have to figure out the puzzle, what is worth to add with the newer parts, etc.

I come from an long extensive VW & Audi background and I am finding what usually works on them for upgrades on power isn't the same for the TJ; T-body spacers, CAI, chips etc.  There is a lot of people who state it's not worth the $$$ but where I wheel, the garage starts at 7,000' and it just goes up, wheezingly  8) .

Cheers, & thanks!
