no lift, it has a single disc cd player, soft top
97 Wrangler SE 120k, standard
They are asking $4,400

$4,400 is not absurd assuming the Jeep is in good overall condition (by this, I mean paint is nice with only minor scratches from normal wear, no rust, tires have plenty of thread left, clean title, no mechanical issues, etc.).  Actual value should be about $4,000~$4,200 depending on the condition (and assuming it is in good condition), so you may still have a bit of room to negotiate, but this also changes if it is being sold by a private party or a dealership (dealerships tend to be more expensive).

hey everybody! bought a 97 tj with a fourbanger a year ago this month. First jeep was a 90 model jeep with a carb. 6 in it. This jeep has more power! (fuel injection) I have a 4" rough country lift, 33" procomp extreme muds, 8000# warn winch, and no front swaybars. Future mods hope to be dana 44's f/r with arb/detroit lockers and 5.38 gears. I like my 4 cyc. jeep just fine. It runs the trails well. I hope to make a sleeper jeep when I add the f/r d44 axles with lockers. I have been married for 11 years with a 8 year old and 10 year old daughters. We camp, hunt, and fish and enjoy superlift offroad park in Hot Springs, Arkansas and Byrds offroad park also here in Arkansas. Glad I found a jeep forum dedicated to 4 cyl. jeeps

hello all, my name is jeff.
i have wanted a tj for a while and finally bought one last year, unfortunately, it was rode hard and put away wet. it is a 2001 model SE with the 4 banger (of course) and the 3 speed auto. it needed a transfer case and some front axle parts; but the price was right for me. i have been gathering parts for a while and last week bought a bunch more off a buddy that is going one ton on his tj. this is my list of parts to put on it:
Pair of TJ axles. Dana 30 and Ford 8.8
The Dana 30 had a recent brake job; turned rotors and new pads, JKS lower control arm skid, Riddler diff cover, 4.56 gearing and a lockright locker. Axle will be sold caliper to caliper complete ready to bolt in. Also including the cam bolts, tie rod and drag link along with a Rancho steering stabilizer.

The Ford 8.8 is a disk brake explorer version with new rotors and pads. Converted to TJ brake lines including all lines from the frame connection down to each caliper, Riddler dif cover, 4.56 gears, lockright locker, has the conversion flange to bolt up to a factory TJ driveshaft installed and inlcuded. TJ brackets made by MAD 4 Wheel Drive with spring retainer plates setup to not need a trackbar relocation bracket when using SYE. I am including the conversion emergency brake cables also that mate to the factory TJ adjuster under the tub. Literally a bolt in conversion for your TJ. Complete caliper to caliper. Sway bar included also.

Rubicon Express 3780 SuperFlex Front upper adjustable control arms

Rubicon Express 3783 SuperFlex Rear upper adjustable control arms

(4) Fabtech 4” coil springs Primered and painted flat black rattle can.

(4) Rancho 9000 series adjustable shocks (rears are setup for bar pin eliminators or would need new barpins for direct bolt in)

FRT part number RS99255 Comp Length 15.875” Extended Length 25.875”
REAR part number RS99256 Comp Length 15.125” Extended Length 24”

(1) Pair JKS bar pin eliminators

Rear Rancho Sway bar links 9 ½” center to center

TJ steering box skid. I believe it is a Teraflex piece

1.25 jks body lift

jks motor mount lift

teraflex adjustable front and rear track bars

teraflex adjustable lower control arms

np231 with sye

skyjacker t-case shifter linkage

trailtoys front bumper

trailtoys rear bumper

trailtoys rocker guards

off your rocker corner guards

Mile Marker 8000 winch

tires will probably be some 34" LTB's off my cherokee. i have a set of 36" TSL's but am afraid that would be too much for the 2.5 with the 4.56's.

It is being sold by a dealership. But before they sell it to me there is a tear in the window & driver seat that they are replacing. I looked up the prices online for the different parts and it came out to about the extra $400 or so. With instillation charges by whomever they are getting to do it, it may even come out to more than that.

But as far as condition. There is very little rust, only minor surface rust that we will be taking care of right away. The engine is good as are the tires. The paint is in decent condition. It is still the original paint except for a front panel that was replaced. But for original paint it is in really good condition. I did a carfax report and there is nothing on its record.

We test drove it yesterday and my father was extremely happy (and it almost sounded like he enjoyed it too much, I may be sharing this Jeep haha) with it. All I hafta do is get a loan from the bank and the Jeep is mine! So I'm excited....let's just hope with my lack of credit I can get a loan. Or I'll hafta have one of my parents cosign. But we'll see!

New Here,  1992 YJ 2.5l(duh),  bone stock virgin. Just bougt it yesterday from a buddy for 1k. Runs, smogs, and ready to go. My first jeep was a '48 Willys P/up with 350/350/203,dana 44s f/r. Had to sell it as it wouldnt fit anymore than one me and two kids in it(wife got left home a couple times and she didnt like it). That was about 4 years ago. Found this YJ and decided its time to get to the hills again. The list of mods is going to be long but a lot will be self fabricated. Isnt that the fun of owning a Jeep? Look forward to talking with yall and thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

It is being sold by a dealership.
Hope you got it! (cheaper than $4,400 though!)

I just got it today.  I did pay $4,400, but they did do a lot of work on it without charging me for it. Today was also the first time I ever -really- drove standard. I've practiced in parking lots & graveyards but not too much on main streets. And I'm pretty damn proud of myself. I drove from home to school, an hour away and in 5 PM traffic. Didn't stall once! :beers:

haha, yes there is a graveyard next to my house and it is very hilly. So I was practicing starting on hills so I wouldn't roll back and hit anyone lol
