Dang, I consider Shell to be good gas and rate it close to Union 76. I was thinking Arco, where I live, to be bad, it is usually somewhere around 5 cents cheaper than everything else.
I have no idea what naturally respirated means, but it sounds expensive, and foreign.

bbass, do you have larger tires, the best power gain on my 97 TJ is the 4.88 gears which lets me run AC while climbing hills on the freeway at 70mph with 33X12.50 tires and a 4banger engine.

Its not a waste of money, cause i dont pay for my fuel  :P .  I run 91 in my 2006 saab 9-3 and my jeep. I cant see how anyone would be able to prove a difference in mpg using each. There is no way to have the same variables between the two tests. ( wind, temp, terrain etc ) I think it runs better on 91, so thats all that matters. Even if i was paying for it, my 91 is only 5 cents/litre more anyways.

How the heck do you figure that premium can hurt mpg ? ? I have done my own tests and there is a difference. I burn it in my car, boat, sled, jeep. It doesnt take longer to burn. You can change temperature just by changing the plug.
I own a gas station. I know a thing or two about fuel.

you have no idea what the hell you are talkin about. take the time to look shit up befor you look like an ass on the web. pretty bad to be told of by a 19 year old kid that knows more about your car then you do. as i said regular is all you need. and the whole plug thing is bullshit it only canges the temp eversoslightly. maby 20* at the most. next time you feel like opening your mouth with out the facts DONT. go back to school and learn it for yourself. thanks for thoues of you who backed me up on that good lookin out for another jeeper.

It would not surprise me at all if the news stations reported falsely on the subject. After all, we are all sheeple following the flock wherever they go. But as I stated earlier I understood it was a buck a gallon there for gas, while we pay double and triple that in some area's.

my gas is 88.9 cents/liter.  I think theres 4.5 liters in a gallon, so that make it around 4 bucks a gallon. for reg and 4.22 for premium

Not quite....

a litre is equal to .26 gallon....and don;t forget to convert Canadian into USD.

average in Canada right now is .85 per litre.

85 cents in Canada is the same as $.750347 USD today....

I have to go to a meeting, so someone figure out what that all means by the time I get back....

EDIT:  Nobody.....$.85CD/litre equals $2.89USD/gallon.....check my math...
I've had problems running Shell 87 in my Jeep.  Engine pinged like crazy when going up any hills.
A tightwad method for running 87 octane in any vehicle is run a 160 degree stat.  Many people say this will throw your CEL, but they are wrong.  I run a 160 stat in my 2.5 '98 wrangler, 2000 JGC 4.0, 1996 Geo Tracker- never a CEL or any other problems.  Newer vehicles may have problems- but none of those mentioned do.  None of those vehicles ever ping now with 87 octane- no matter the manufacturer.   Saves me a lot of money in the hot summer on high priced fuel.

I run a 160 thermostat  (test your thermostat to make sure it opens at 160 in a pan of hot water before install)  in all my vehicles and have since then never pinged on 87 or even 85.  4 cyl or whatever.  Works great.  A/C, if you have it, blows colder.  Engine lasts longer and so does the oil before changing it, too.  Belts and hoses last far longer.

4x4 grey,

I actually used a universal ACCEL high output coil, and 8.8 mm wires.... works great

Sorry, not to sure on how to use this forum, but thats the coil i used, with 8.8 mm high performance wires, and champion platnium plugs... works great
