I get horrendous gas mileage and drive 5 miles a day, but performance wise it does fine I think, I can hold 65 in a head wind, 4th gear on an incline, 5th gear if its flat though I never use 5th.

perhaps that is why you are getting such terrible gas mileage?  5th helps me "improve" my mileage
