Well on thursday and friday the first days of march we got a major snow storm here in minnesota.  I decided to drive up to my parents house 3 hours North, to go snowmobiling, in the middle of the storm.  Anyways I was driving on highway 10 3 miles south of Motley, for those Minnesotans on the board, when all the sudden i lost control and my jeep spun out in the middle of the highway.  The posted limit was 65 and I wasn't going any faster than 50 and I was getting passed all afternoon, but I guess I was still going too fast.  My jeep spun around 270 degrees before it was t-boned by the f-150 riding my ass.  One of the scariest things I have ever been a part of, after the jeep spun 180 i got a real good look at the f-150 barrelling down on me, and watched it as it nailed the passenger side of my car.  You win Mozman all the bad Karma has caught up with me the black knight has defeated the freedom machine and he now wears the scars.

Any Idea how they will fix the dent on the body that makes up the door well?

On another note, when i was driving the jeep back home tonight it had a terrible shimmy every time i got up over 55mph.  I thought for sure the frame was tweaked.  But then I remembered a post put up about a snow run and not getting all the snow out of the wheels before getting on the highway so I pulled over and checked my wheels, sure enough the inside of both the passenger rims were full of snow and ice, after i got that out, she was true as ever-thank god

Man, at least you are ok!  The other day I was rounding bend in the road at 45, the streets were dry and not snow covered but there was a hidden patch of ice, the back end swung around, then I hit dry pavement again and stopped sliding as fast as I started, it jerked the jeep violently onto 2 wheels and back the direction I was going, thought for sure I was going to roll it.

That's a bad break, Chad.  But, it'll get fixed.

Still, can I have your 6x9 speaker bar?  Those things are hard to find.

Ouch! Glad ur OK... I had the blender effect w/o the crash a few years ago... not fun.

I was in Indiana seems they like to plow the sholders instead of the main road... everyone was passing the plow. When my turn came up, I spun when I passed the "wake" from the plow. Some how I kept it between the ditches and traffice was light ~ everyone else managed to avoid me. Straightened it out and passed again - this time in 4H - fully puckered.

Did you talk to the insurance co. yet?

Ouch, I'd count yourself lucky that it didn't roll when you got hit.  If a body shop fixes it, they'll just buy a $100 panel and cut most of the mangled metal out to replace.  Takes way too much labor to pound and pull something like that out.

The clowns'? Oh, yeah, the clowns. We fight them too — entire armies, spilling out of Volkswagons. We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending 'em in!

Sure glad you are ok. Getting hit at speed at a 'T' angle is abrupt for sure. Check out your spine. Is it still straight? Neck ok?

Wow.

For the body, look at this as an opportunity. The insurance will give you an estimate to get it fixed. Take that in cash. Yes, you'll need another door, but they are cheap through forum lists through someone selling them rather than a junk yard then body shop then insurance. Check your local craigslist.org city for Jeep extras. I know someone here in KC selling a pair of TJ half doors red in color ( HERE for $400.
Then for the floor and the side panel, time to upgrade. Sheetmetal can be done by your local body shop repair guy behind lines. You won't need a repair, you just need an adjustment. Then get yourself some kickpanel skids and steps. You can go aftermarket or custom made. There are some mfrs that have steel (3/16"-1/4") that go up near the door edge from fender to fender. Add some side tubing for a step and your are set.
