i just scored at jet chip for my 2000 4banger for 50 bucks....i have no idea which port it goes in???
any pics of where it installs?
i know theres only 3 spots
lol sorry if this is a stupid question...

nice find try ebay look for a jeep with one installed, and they normally show pictures of it installed just an option.  or wait someone will tel you

Right hand side ... make sure to disconnect the neg battery cable before you install the chip.

If you don't know what port it goes into, you might look into making sure you have everything else required for that chip so that you don't screw anything up.  Not sure if u need a modified intake/exhaust or not.

It goes on the far right side if your facing the front. Credit goes to gomi for this picture.

02 2.5.L automatic: 4.0L t.b., 4.0l air intake, K&N filter, Scream'n Demon coil, 8.5mm MSD Super Conductor plug wires, Stage 1 Jet Chip, 29" BFG all terrain KO's. Taurus E-fan, Hummer front bumper, Skyjacker high capacity trans pan, 48" hi-lift, Rubi susp w. 3/4" BB.

I think the instructions for mine included that you need to leave the battery disconected for at least five minutes and let it idle for a few before  you drive it.  You got one of the easiest and best mods for the 4 banger, congrats. :thumbsup:

Do they really make that much difference? And if you add exhaust and intake is it like a totally different jeep?

Yeah, I usually disconnect the negative terminal and then turn the key forward like you are going to start the engine. Leave it that way for about 10 minutes while you plug the chip in. After 10 minutes or so, turn the key back to the off position, reconnect the negative battery terminal then start the Jeep. Leave it run for a few minutes and then drive it as normal.

I don't have one myself yet. I'm kind of on the fence as to if they work or not.

Do you have the stage 1, or 2. Stage one is what I have and can be used with little or no mods. Stage two is a bit more aggressive and requires a few upgrades and 91 octane. Just put it into the port on the far right after you disconnect the negative terminal. Wait a few minutes then put terminal back on and let idle for ten minutes or so. Hop in and drive around, see if you like it. Oh, and make sure you push it in until you hear it click, it can seem like it's on tight but probably isn't, common mistake.

I think it makes a very noticable difference, feels stronger and easiest mod to do. I have an intake, tb, spacer. Jet chip was proabaly the most noticable.

I have yet to get a dyno write up on one. I have alot of mods on mine, but I am not willing to spend the extra dough on 91 octane. Some mechanics swear by msd though I may lean towards jet chip for the price.

I've had a stage 2 Jetchip installed for several months now. Does it make a difference? Immediately. But I also have an intake/TBS, cat-back (no headers tho, I think it runs better with oem manifold) and the Firewire ignition. Combine it all together and it makes a very big difference.

One thing... With all this it did tend to run hotter. I've put in a 160 degree Robert Shaw thermostat and an electric fan (and I carry my old mechanical fan in the parts box in back just in case). For normal driving I can use 89 octane, but add some 91, whoohoo  :clap:
