I'm still running stock gears, new gears will help, but still will not be as good as stock, even an inch will make it worse. With our 2.4L, our power band is in the high end of the RPM so 3k-4.5/5K range. Even if you get the same size tire, and  MTR, it will be heaver and maybe a lil wider, That will still slow it down. If you plan on running off road and wouldn't mind making a small sacrifice get the same size tire but in MTR and re gear is a lil better gearing, then you should be OK on power.
Where not as lucky and the 2.5L guys and have low end power.  :'(

P.S. Don't forget the increase of gas mileage with bigger tires, the bigger the worse. I'm at 16 MPG with my set up. I have not changed the speedo gear, but its not off by much. The speedo is dead on with my 31's vs GPS speed. even checked it with radar too.

Yeah i here ya there (Liljeepz) i to, have the 4.11 stock ratio, but i wonder how much trouble ill get into with my 8yr, 80,000 mile drive train warrenty, if i sneek in a set of 4.56s, or 4.88s, so i dont have the power lose with 31s, and the 2.4L. If you check out the Avenger website, and check out the gold little scrappy jeep with a 2.4L with there super charger. Plus they installed 4.88s into the D30 and D35 axles, with big ol 37s. The web site shows the scrappy jeep smoking the tires, and thats with an automatic tranny to.  :puzzled:
