« on: September 30, 2007, 04:43:56 PM »
Does anyone have an exploded vier of a TJ fuel tank with fittings and fuel lines? Usually Q-tec has them in the catologs but I'm thinking the wife threw all my catalogs out.  :brick:

Also, does anyone know where I can get a "Y" fitting for the fuel tank evap lines? I fixed the broken tank strap today and noticed my "Y" fitting was cracked and needed replacing. It's 1/4" on 2 ends and 3/16 the other.

I need the connector that connects the two 1/4" in connections (circled in red) to the 3/16" evap line.

This is a YJ tank but it works for my purposes.

Its all low pressure so anything will work as long as its a tight fit.

BTW, your tank sure looks differeny than my 97. I only have one pressure line and the EVAP lines. You can 2 pressure lines and a totally different pump cap.

Since its off and out, why not gain fuel capacity? Trim the small tube inside the tank.

Thanks jag. I actually fixed it yesterday. I picked up a multi size "T" fitting from napa and cut the ends to what I needed. The tank in the photo is from a YJ. It's not my TJ tank. I just used it to show what two lines I needed to connect to one another. My 02 tank looks exactly like your 97 tank.

I didn't know you could mod the 02 tank. I though that could only be done on the initial year TJ's? Next time I drop it I'll have to have a look inside. How much capacity did you gain by trimming the tube?

I gained roughly 4 gals. Used to take 12 to fill when at certain gauge point, now its over 16!!!! I can actually drive over 300 miles in a tank and have fumes left over.

BTW, I had the same thing with the straps. I used the original straps, cut off the broken screw thing, drilled a hole and used a 'J' hook to secure them.
