Premature Clutch Wear - Tech Bulletin?
« on: November 29, 2007, 12:16:49 PM »
I am in need of a new clutch and stumbled accross this technical notice.  Is any one running this spacer in their 94-95 Wrangler and if so did it make a difference:

Premature Clutch Wear

Vehicles: 1994-98 Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler
LuK Part Numbers: 01-040, 05-065, 05-901

Premature clutch wear may be caused by insufficient clearance between the bell housing and slave cylinder. The slave mounting surface is located too far forward, restricting movement. This prevents proper fork move-ment, causing partical release and slippage. Install a shim, Jeep part #4797072 between the slave cylinder and bell housing to avoid premature wear.

For additional information, refer to Chyrsler bulletin #06-03-94.
