stumbling...
« on: August 19, 2008, 07:25:03 PM »
ok here goes... when my motor is at operating temps it will stumble/hesitate while accelerating, but only while the motor is below 2000-2200rpm.
I'm trying to figure out what i need to check, haynes says:
1)ignition - ignition is controlled by the computer, i have no way to check timing
2)fuel pressure- getting ready to check that tonight
3)intake - i cleaned the throttle body, air filter, idle air controller, and intake out they are clean.
4)plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are fine.

the only other things i can think of are the:
1)throttle position sensor - how can i check this, i really dont want to throw $78 for a new one "just to see if it works"
2)crank position sensor - how can i check this, i really dont want to throw $72 for a new one "just to see if it works"
3)???

changed:

1)TPS
2) fuel pressure is 45-50PSI @ idle
3) plugs are dry and show no signs of abnormal wear

today im going to change:
1) o2 sensors
2) map sensor - or at least get it checked

all of these sensors have 140K + miles on them, so i dont feel like its a waste to change them, just saaves me the headache of losing one of them at an inopertune time in the future.
