I'd have to say its pretty easy to work on.  Everything is so simple.  Rusty bolts are really the only problem heh

Because I too can work on it.

And, because it's a Jeep thing....

There seems that there are limitless options that can be build or bought for it, and it gives me a reason to buy new tools.  I love tools.  Tools…mmmm.

Because it's proven infallible offroad despite the inherent crappiness of driving around on three cylinders, crap tires, and a hole in the exhaust.

And I can stare at it, think to myself "I love this turd" and then proceed to beat the crap out of it.

Oh, and I can fix it... it's probably a little harder on an XJ, but I still can fix it! Gotta love tools too!

I'd have to say that its because theres a special group of people who truly admire it and the hard work involved in a lot of them. Or maybe we're all just special in the head

I've loved Jeeps since I was a little kid.  I'm trying to remember why I originally liked them so much.  I think it was because I believed they could go anywhere and although they were made to work without worrying about how they looked, they still looked better than any other car (at the time the flat fender Willys Jeeps were what I had in mind).  Ironically, I've never owned a Willys Jeep, just a GPW, a Grand Cherokee, and a YJ.

Loved'em since I saw my first episode of Rat Patrol.  When that jeep busted over the top of the dune caught some air, dug in an wheeled out, the guy in back on the big fifty, I think that's when I first wanted one.  Took 30 years for me to get on and I can honstly say that of ALL the vehicles that I've owned or driven my Jeep YJ is the FUNNEST (is that a word).  when you can look at a vehicle and it bring a grin to you face you know you got something.

i've only had my (first) TJ for about a month. But i've always wanted one since I was little, probably because the first toy car I had was my dad's old model Jeep. I just smile when I think about my Jeep & get so excited every time I walk up to it to drive.

Here you go Oilsmoke
www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD3k5-VaVFA
The entire series is on DVD for about $35.00.
Anybody know where I can get a pintal mount and a .50 that will mount with the roll bar.
Might be nice for those less than considerate drivers out there.....
Enjoy!

I think the only word that can describe it is love...  I do love my jeep; I mean how else would you explain that you like something that you have to tinker with forever for it to run as it is suppossed to?
