I've decided to go ahead with a motor rebuild.
After having read as many posts on this board as I can find, I've formed a couple of impressions (I promise I'll TRY to be brief).
Will most likely use a Banks header, cheap cat from 4WP, and Banks cat-back. Just bought Chris's throttle body.
Some of you guys who have used a-m headers have talked about some loss of low-end torque. I really want to hang on to as much low-end as I can. (4.10 gears, 31" tires, will probably stay there as this is a dd/freeway ride)
I'll probably get a cam and sprockets/chain from Hesco. Gonna call them tomorrow. (Would LOVE to get roller/rockers but this ain't no race car and 300 bucks would look good on Mama - just ask her.
)
Do you think I'll need larger valves to compliment the large TB?
The '00 uses 23 lb injectors - any suggestions there? (120,000 total miles)
My real reason for going with a large tb, header, etc is to gain just enough oomph to pull an a/c unit. (Had Jeep fever and just bought one w/o stopping to think that I was bringing an un-air conditioned vehicle to Memphis.
Now, I've got so much money in it that I've pretty well married this girl for life. )
Thanks in advance, folks. I've really been enjoying your posts regarding your own experiences.
