35's on 3" lift

Can you fit 35's with a 3" lift on a 97TJ?

Will there be rubbing and what about for offroading purposes?

Also is 4.88 gears enough for 35's

With a 1 body lift and maybe extending the front bump stops a bit 35" tires will fit
4.88's and 35" tires is not a bad combo

I'm planning on putting 35's on mine but I have a 3.5 lift (actually ended up with 4") and 1" BL.  Running 33's and have lots of room.  Got 4.88's but am considering 5.38's when I put the D44 up front.

Now another ? is will the D30 and D35 hold up to those 35's with some mild wheeling and mostly DD?

D30 will D35 might
The trail we did last Sunday the guy in the white Jeep ran it on 35's with that combo, he ran sledgehammer that way also however on that trail he blew the spider gears. Guy is a very good driver though and goes easy on it with an automatic . We did some pretty good size rocks so for the time being you should be ok, you can always swap something stronger in later

That is basically the size lift I run to use my 35's. I have 2" poly spacer, ACOS front to adjust the height, Rubi LJ coils, and 1.25" bl. I also added articulating control arms and track bars. With short arms, you have to be concerned with the length of the shocks. I use bump stops to limit my compression. I have the 35's on 15x7s and had to add 1.5" wheel spacers to keep the tires off the frame and control arms.

I think my rims are 3.75 or 3.5 or 3.25 they stick out pretty far with 31x10.50 BFG/AT's. Also i will add some Xenon Flat flares when I do it.

So i'm thinking 3" lift with a 1" body and some longer front bump stops and that should be good I hope.

I have a 2.5" lift with 31's right now and I put some of my buddy's 33's on and still had alot of room so that's why i'm thinking 35's.

I would just go 4" but I spent $80 on some billstein shocks (each) for a 3" lift and kinda like the look of the tires filling as much of the wheel wells as possible.

A friend runs 45" with a 3" terra lift and does ok so it should work for yA.
Go to Cleghorn flex it on the big rock and see if the front fenders will clear or if it needs a bit more bump stop. The rear tires will rub on the back of the inner fender some but that is not a big issue

Just curious but is this due to the design of the TJ tub? Because when I was running 33's with my stock YJ flares I rubbed on the rear bottom corner of rear wheel well, and adding TJ flares/cutting sheet metal fixed that and even with 35's I clear fine.

I know, but he made comment that with 35's he'll be rubbing the inner fender. I'm running about 5-5.5" lift total with TJ flares in the rear, 15x8 wheels with 3.5" BS and I don't rub  :stick:

I never really measured my bs, but I believe they were 3.75" bs.

Running 35's with 4" lift...but with flat fenders (room for 37's) and 4.88 gears.
2009 Audi S5....what....its 4wd...sort of....
