Cleaning the MAP Sensor
« on: July 06, 2009, 07:12:06 PM »
I thought the MAP sensor was sealed.  But apparently you can get inside and clean it somehow? I guess I'll just pull mine off and see what I can do with it; 165k so it could probably use a going over.  If you guys have done this before and you know I am in danger of busting something trying to get inside the MAP sensor, plz let me know  :bandit:

there's nothing to clean really - there is no air going in or out the MAP sensor, it is only pressure difference (vacuum) but no air movement (or air circulating to be more specific) so unless it was unplugged (the hose off the nipple) there shouldn't be any dirt in it. Just wondering, why do you want to clean it?

he probably clean the connector pins on both ends to make sure there is no loss or no connection there.
