I have not run Synchromesh, but MT90 is great; it made my tranny smoother.

Is synchromesh a synthetic like the MT90?

Guess I'm the odd man out, but my tranny was rebuilt to use lighter weight lube,
the stock bearings are shrouded and if the lube is too thick it wont get in the
bearings like its supposed to. (Yet another Mopar spec against what Aisin recomended....)

I've been running 20W50 Synthetic oil. Or The actual AX5 lube from the dealer.

The real test would be a temperature probe and some freeway miles... HMM>

I've been using Pennzoil Synchromesh for about 4 years now  (only about 5000 miles) and it has worked well.  I don't think it is synthetic and it was available locally.

I'm running mobil's synthetic gear oil in my AX-5, Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube
LS 75W-90, seems ok, but not real happy with my shifting.  Seems to have gotten tougher.  First chance I'm switching to some standard gear oil or MT-90.

Mobil is likely GL5 and will ruin your synchros, causing notchy shifting before it gets real bad.  Change it to synchromesh or MT90 soon.  MT90 is best, being a full synthetic it can really improve the shifting, especially when cold.

I'll second this; I had strong doubts when I bought it (was thinking along the lines of "snake oil"), but mine shifts real nice now.

I ran M1 for about 10K miles. I changed it out and was very surprised to see how much shiney yellow syncro material came out with it. M1 is a GL5 lube. That's bad MMkay. Standard gear oil is GL5, that's bad MMkay. Syncromesh or Redline MT90 or one of the other oils listed in the FAQ page is what you need. (GL3) rated.
