cold start cutout?
« on: May 20, 2011, 09:51:13 AM »
hello i have a 96 xj 2.5 and  it has started acting a little funny on start up, when i first take off from first to second the engine sounds like its flooding itself, then all i have to do is push in the clutch n let the engine whine back down then itll start running properly. has new plugs wires cap rotor fuel filter air filter. i was wondering if a bad coil could cause this or what sensors may cause this? also when its cold it seems like when i accelerate threw the gears its like it hesitates then runs good hesitates then runs good all within like ten seconds of eachother but once it warms up a bit, it runs great. any suggestions? :brick: :brick:

dunno for sure but could be tps, temp sensor, fuel pump and on a long shot the map sensor. but how about codes, do you get a cel? If it runs fine once you push the clutch in don't think it's the coil (would run as bad regardless).
