I'm about to take on installing a nv3550 into my xj, and I'm almost done peicing together everything I need. I have already gotten the dakota bellhousing, 23 spline input for the t-case, and hopefully soon I will have an inertia ring! The nv3550 swap SHOULD be the same as if I were swapping in an ax-15 right? I have read that I will need to use an 84 camaro 4 cylinder clutch disc, and the only reason I can figure on this is that the input shaft on the tranny has a different spline count than the ax5. I found that information on the Novak site. The clutch disc is the only part of the clutch system that contacts the splines on the input shaft, so am I right in assuming that the stock pressure plate and throwout bearing should be retained? My concern is that the 84 camaro disc might be a larger diameter, and not fit under the stock pressure plate. Anybody have any ideas? What about pilot bearing?
