IIRC, you dont need oil at all...  I think that was one of the main differences with the K&N.

just looked - you need oil, it comes pre-oiled so not the first time you install it but you need a cleaning and oiling kit

I guess I should probably oil mine then...  I have cleaned it out twice and never oiled it.  I wonder where I could get that oil around here...
