This was the closes thing I could find that wasn't GL-5 at my Napa. I guess I could try to take it back and order the MT-90.

It would be better to go with the tried and true in the AX5. Penzzoil Synchromesh or Redline MT-90. I wouldn't experiment too much with this, especially with Penzzoil Synchromesh being cheap and readily available.

Redline MT-90 is available for just over $10 per quart with free shipping (case price). http://www.ogracing.com/catalog/2-Car/34-Oils-Lubricants/item-479-RED-LINE-MT-90-MANUAL-TRANS-LUBRICANTThe penzoil is cheaper. See Jeffy's oil study (FAQs?) for comparison.

Ok, i bit the bullet for some Redlin MT-90 for $12.50 a quart, 4 quarts worth. I'll be putting it in my AX5 tomrrow.
I imagine the CRC 80W-90 GL-4 is ok for my rear dana 35?

For the rears, I use whichever 80W-90 is cheapest and change it often, as every time I get axle deep in water, I change out the oit (and that happens often around here).

Well, I flushed the tranny and was I shocked. The oil looked like ivory paint or pancake batter. Luckily I had some generic gear oil to flush it with before I put in the redline mt-90. The second drain it only looked like honey mustard.
No more deep water for me. Vent hose looked ok, but I think its a front seal. I'll get it next time I have to mess with the clutch.

I've found that in my differentials a couple of times... Never in the TC or tranny, though.
