I'm looking to get some rocker guards for my TJ, any one suggest any good brands or what I should look for when buying them? I don't want to spend a fortune on them but I don't want junk either... some where in the middle. I was thinking about getting some with a sliding bar welded on them, but that's up in the air right now.

I like Kilby Enterprises stuff. I know the owner and he makes sure they are up to a pretty high standard. There are many knockoffs out there though. Lots of inferior or copycat stuff that sometimes is cheaper but you may or may not get quality.
I do like rockers that have a nerf or step built into them. This keeps the big stuff off the body and gives you a step to get in.

Make sure whatever you get ties into the body mounts. There are several brands which are only attached to the sheetmetal.

Just as or more important, you want the bolts inside to use brackets an not just large washers. With a impact at 45* to the edge, it will try to twist the rocket and pull the bolts out at the top. I've seen this happen first hand with Off Your Rockers on a TJ. It wasn't a pretty sight. Left a 1/8-1/4" gap and twisted the rocker and body.
I've seen some nice home made 1/4" L channels used for rockers that works well if you're on a budget.

I peronally like the PSC rocker knockers, they use the body mount and have the slider bar for $300ish. I'm thinking on going that route myself.

I like those a lot and there just a little over what I was wanting to pay... I think I will go with those. I like the kilby but there to much money, I don't want to spend $545 on just rocker guards. I do plan on getting there gas tank skid when I scrap up more cash.
Thanks for the info guys!

These are the ones I'm buying, but their TJ model doesn't attach to the body mounts if that's an issue for you.

Old Jeep, those where the ones I was looking at for the last year, I do like the idea of mounting them to the body mounts, I'm not going to be a rock climber or any thing like that just a trail rig, but it just sounds stronger. There about the same price too.

Seems to be a nice product, secure mounting location on the frame, protects the underside of rocker as well as the side.

Most have moved away from old school nerfs. The nerfs do eat up some clearance since it hangs below the body. (I still run old skool 3" shorty nerfs though.)

And if you slide them across a pointy rock, it's really easy to get hung up on the support bars.

That's because you've had you're Jeep since they were cool! 8)
