Hello all.   :thumb: I'm new to the forum.  I have a '98 Wrangler with several mods including:
 underdrive pulley
 hard top
 Banks exhaust
 safari rack
 short shifter
 front lock-out hubs
 intake
 4L polished throttle body
 elec fan conversion
some other things I can't recall at the moment...
plus more to come as I win the lottery (wishful thinking)

 See ya around  :doggy:

Something you don't find on Jeeps.  It's basically a smaller pulley for say the PS pump or alternator.  Using a smaller pully would slow the accessory down which would allow for the engine not to struggle.  BUT the alternator pulley is pretty small already and you really need the PS pump working at 100%.  You'd be better off getting rid of the clutch fan then trying to scavenge power from a pulley swap.

Interesting, never heard of it before. Thanks

Oh yeah, you could also slow down the fan/waterpump but you'd want a high volume pump to keep the flow up and then you might run into overheating issues.  Which is why I'd recommend the electric fan.

I agree with Jeffy.  Underdrive pulleys are typically used by drag racers to extract a little extra HP from their engines.  When you're offroad, you're generally running slower, with accessories (fans, lights, winches, etc.), and pushing your steering and cooling systems pretty hard - The total opposite of drag racing.

The little 4 pooper has enough ump ofroad its on road at highway speeds where it struggles and a underdrive pulley could help it some. If it works for him why not
