since at 5250rpm you'll reach 114mph  i think it's fine :roflol:

now being serious i don't think the revs are too high

The torque band in the 2.5L ussually starts at about 2500, so you should not have any problems.  I have a stick, and mine also runs at about 2,800 at 65mph (in 4th, but I use 4th more often than 5th at this speed).

Those are fine, the 2.5L is perfectly comfortable between 3k and 3500.  The 2.5L likes the revs.

My sweep spot starts at around 2250RPM's and will run strong till around 3700RPM.  I shift around 25-3000RPM so it's still in the powerband in the next gear.  I will rev till 4000RPM when getting onto the freeway.  I've been over 5000RPM a couple of times as well.  Pretty normal for a 2.5L.

thanks for the input guys! i guess i was put off by it when i was ridin in my buddy's jeep (he has the 4.0) and i noticed him around 2k at 55-60mph..although i knew the 4banger would rev higher than a 6, i guess i started feeling like 2800 was a bit too high. i dunno. if it's all normal then im good to go. thanks again!

I pull ~3300rpms at highway speed on 35's/4.88s. So I think you are lacking....

3300? im never really above 3k. 65mph and she sits right at 3k...a few times ive had her near 4k but as soon as i let off the gas she'll shift, but if its anything from 50-65 shes at 2800-3000 or a hair above.

Add, 3-sp automatic. It will downshift to raise another 4-500rpms (I can do the same with touching the brake) but it really doesn't have enough umph.
