I see we're both rocking USPS white wranglers. great lookin rig ya got there. i noticed your spare tire carrier. would u happen to know the size limit the stock carrier can handle...will it fit a 32?

Looks pretty good.

Stan you can hang a 35 from the stck carrier if you wanted too, now if it's the smartest thing to do remains to be seen. Them things are heavy, as long as it's snug agaings the tail gate stoppers (those rubber blocks) It might live for a while, the better solution is a carrier of the bumper or jeel the tire inside on the floor if you are not hurting for room in the back, a 35" tire will fit on the floor behind the front seats, just strap it down from the rear seat anchor points. Not the ultimate solution but it works.
-
Good explanation Art. But what about my bumper? I wanted to hear how cool it is! ;)
-
Well I had my 31x10.50's on the stock carrier and I think that it was too much. It would rattle when I hit big bumps and it was pulling at the very top just above the handle.
Like Art said if ya go bigger you can lay it on the floor and strap it down if ya have space.
-
personely I think it holds the tire out pretty far. I would watch your departure angle. just something I look for is how close to vehicle it will hold it.

yeah, pretty bad for wheelies :wall:
-
well if it holds a 35 it will certainly hold a 32...im running 31s now but my spare is stock size. guess ill see how it holds when i upgrade to 32s. though i like how your tire carrier allows you to place the highlift on top of that..ive been looking for a place to mount my shovel...guess if i got a carrier like yours i could do that.
-
The tire doesn't really stick that far out compared to others.
A guy a my work has the Warn tire swing and it's sitting about the same.
-
i like the fact that it has the gas canisters - one thing that i am interested to hear is if it's rattling or moving back and forth, seems that the whole thing relies on the 1/2'' bolt on the hinge and the lock on the other end - post some feedback once you put some miles on it. Looks good and i really like the extra gas feature and the hi-lift jack mount.
-
are you able to lock the highlift? is the carrier able to be locked as well?
-
Looks good.

Well so far there are no rattles at all (freeway and in town driving) I'm going wheeling this Thanksgiving week so I will be able to really see how it goes.
The bumper is solid and any rattles that occur can be fixed.
The hi-lift can be locked. I just ran an 8' master lock python lock thru everything /Gas cans,Hi-Lift and Tire.
I bought a super syphon so I wont have to remove the Gerry cans to fill up, so i will see how that works to.
-
So after 3 days of wheeling at the river, i'm pleased to report no signs of rattles!
Plus had no problems with departure angles.
-
Jeep looks awesome.....great rear bumper and carrier....not sold on the front bumper though. Too plain for me.
-
The front is still stock but I have some cool plans for it!
-
Ha Scott, I got a nice stubby front bumper for your Jeep
-
Which one (pic?) and how much?
-
Three days of wheeling won't assume you that there would be no problems in the long run...
Try to observe it after few more wheeling....
Of course!
