Forgive how vague my description is: Just noticed last night at low speed (under 5mph) an odd shimmy/vibration/kind of a grind coming from the vehicle. While it is doing it, it also comes with a certain slight "thud" that is more felt then heard. Pretty much a grind and vibration felt through out. Cant hear anything from outside the vehicle..but you can feel it while inside. This is all mostly felt, you can start to kind of hear it but like i said it's all mostly felt. I took a buddy of mine in the passanger seat to see if he could hear/feel it. we figure it feels like somewhere from center of the vehicle back...i think it may be near the rear end. I need some ideas on what to look at first. Rear driveshaft? U-Joint? wheel Bearings?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated cause im pretty much scratching my head on this one.
BTW: when my fwd driveshaft U-joint crapped out, it made a steady clicking followed by a thud. Im not so sure it's a u-joint in this situation cause the sound doesnt have a pattern of any sorts.
thanks,
-stan

could be the driveshaft best case scenario. I kinda had the same thing happening but by the sounds of it was more obvious than yours and in my case was the R&P in the rear axle (chipped a few teeth), i hope it's the d/s in your case.

Turned out to be something way more simple. i had recently rotated my fwd tires back to the rear, and the rear fwd. the fwd ones had worn down badly and on an angle...when i put em on the rear they were more squared on the ground then what they had been previously so the vibrations i was feeling were due to the outer tread being deeper then the rest of the tread on the tire. swapped em back to how they were and everything was fine. Did notice a dent in my driveshaft though....gonna check the joints to make sure nothing is out of line.

A dent in drive shaft is a big weak spot, which could result in a twisted shaft.
