Rant: Watch out for ExhaustDepot.com
« on: March 20, 2012, 12:32:32 PM »
Hello everyone,

I don't normally rant about stuff like this, however this company I bought a part from has been totally unprofessional.  I ordered an exhuast flex pipe from exhaustDepot.com.  I found them during web search.  One of the reason I went with them is that they claimed there products were made in the US.  I really try to find companies and parts made here if possible.  the product was supposed to take two weeks.  It was almost 4 weeks before I got the product.  The only way to communicate with them was via E-Mail (first mistake).  after the end of the 3rd week I wrote back to them and he told me his jig was broken and he could not complete the order.  He gave me the name of another company to buy one from but did not provide any forwarding info.  They had already charged my card, and denied that they did.  when I provided confirmation of the charge to him and demanded a refund, he claimed he had me confused with someone else, and would check the status of my order.  after another day of no info I sent another E-Mail demanding either a tracking number of the shipment or a refund.  Well the part finally arrived on Friday.  I opened the box, and the first thing I see is a label "Made in china".  At this point It will cost more then the part is worth to ship it back, and pay his 20% restocking fee.  I sent them an E-Mail this afternoon, expressing my dissatisfaction of the whole deal, and told him I would exersize my power as consumer and steer as many poeple away from his products as I could.  I mentioned to him that I am an auto enthusiest , and i belong to a number of automotive forums and that I would warning them of there company.  Moderators:  if this is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it the correct one.

I am not a hard person to please.  A little customer service will go a long way with me.  The false advertising set me off however.

Probably should go in nuts and bolts which is more for reviews. But wow. Thanks for the heads up on that one.

A BBB complaint takes a couple days and after they get the official letter, the business has 30 days to respond.

i didn't mean to solve this particular issue, but in time if they receive multiple complaints they get flagged. and the added bonus of having to respond to BBB

Yes, I will have to do that.  I got a response from the " sales team"  that said I could return the product for a refund.  I sent them back a reply, that by the time I pay for shipping it back, it will cost almost as much as the refund.  I told them that if they paid for the shipping and refunded the part, that I would consider the matter resolved.  I have not heard back from them.  That was on Tuesday after I made this thread.
