Body lift fit?
« on: April 11, 2006, 08:35:31 PM »
Ok, so I have a 3 inch body lift that I took off of my 2002 sport when I bought it.  On the local bullitan board a guy was looking for various means of lift for his 91 YJ.  I e-mailed him and he said that if i could find out if it would definetly work on a 91 he'd buy it.
conventional wisdom tells me it probably would, but not knowing the YJ at all, I can't say, so I thought I'd ask the brain-pile that is this message board.  All the kit really is is the spacers for each body mount, a corresponding body mount bolt, a bracket for the transfer case lever, a bracket to raise the steering column and a bracket to lower the radiator.  I'm guessing the transfer case lever bracket is useless because I thought YJ's used a straight stick instead of what my dad calls the "pistol grip" lever for the transfer case.
any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Luke

There are 11 body mounts on the YJ not including the grill supports.  I believe the difference is in the size of the mounts.  Although my JKS uses all the same size pucks.

Honestly, if it was me, I'd chop the mounts down to 1.5" or 1" in an band saw and sell off the other pucks.  You never know when you might want to use a slight body lift.
