you can get rid of the stumble if you use the P/S wire to increase the idle (for high speed only, like Jeffy said no need for low speed). My hayden worked ok but maybr i just got lucky, but i am using it only for low speed, i don't recommend it for high speed as it's not meant for that much amp draw. I had the high speed kick in twice in the summer, probably not necessary but if it's there i figured I might as well use it, good measure for redundancy anyway (so i don't rely solely on the hayden).

I think you'd definately notice when the idle kicks up.  I barely notice when my fan kicks in.  There is only a slight change in RPM which didn't even show in the gauge.  If you're not waiting for it, you wouldn't even feel the fan kick in.

you don't notice any stumble going up actually (i tested it), what you do notice when it goes low is the vibrations and not that it drops rpm, if you have a smooth idle you won't notice it going up in revs (wich shouldn't be that much, with no load is about 150, with the fan on high it's close to the same rpm or maybe a bit over).

What I'm saying is that any compensation you try to make for the fan on will more then likely be unnecessary which many also give a negative result.
