Not sure if this is the right spot for this but thought it might be useful to someone looking for a new winch.

That link is broke.

Do you have any pics of your Jeep - you've got a very similar setup as the one I'm looking for.  I guess TJ have a little wider wells than a YJ - but if it's not a huge pain in the ass, could you post or email me some pics?

Thanks man, sorry to semi-jack your thread.

Table needs some updating.  Most of that info can be found on the man. sites though.

Come on, the list is 5 years old.  :lol:

Everyone has shuffled their line up since then. 6/20 have been discontinued.

Warn HS9500I
RAMSEY ProPlus 8000
RAMSEY Platinum 9000
RAMSEY Platinum 9500 --> Patriot 9500
RAMSEY RE10,000
SUPERWINCH S9000
SUPERWINCH Husky 8

There are 6 new electric winches from Milemarker;

E 9000
SE 9500
PE 8000
E 12000
SE 12000
SI 12000

Warn has 8 new models;

9.5xp
9.5ti Thermometric
9.5si M.O.S.F.E.T.
M6000, Tabor 9K
Tabor 12K
16.5ti
9.0Rc

Ramsey changed their lineup with 9 new models;

Triple-X 6000
Patriot 15000
Patriot 9500
Patriot 8000
Patriot 6000
Patriot Profile 12000
Patriot Profile 9500
Patriot Profile 9000
Patriot Profile 8000
Patriot Profile 6000

T-Max is the new guy with 6 of their own;

EW-6500, EW-9000
EW-10000
EW-12500
EW-10000 [INTEGRATED]
EW-12000 [INTEGRATED]

Then you might as well throw in the Harbor Freight 8000, too.

That's 30 new winches that aren't even on there.  But if you happen to want one of the 14 that happen to be on the list then I guess it's good.  :wink:

Everything that's not race replaced is generally 5-6 years old on that site.  They/Pat ousted most of their good staff members 7 years ago then sold to someone else who's more into competition then tech. Most of the writers reformed to created 4x4wire.com.

Jeffy,

WOW ... look what 10 little letters, a smiley, and plus some dots got you to do. It is a little out of date huh, :lol: That is some work you put into that, good job.  No stir intended there.

I am enjoying the webite, I've recommended it to the people running the 4's in our jeep club. Keep up the good work.

It didn't take much work since I knew what I was looking for.  I did a thing on choosing a winch a few months back also.

BTW: this site may lean more towards 2.5L but it doesn't exclude anyone.

I posted up this site on our local general forum and there was some good feedback on it, but it was also hijacked and I caught a little ribbing for having our "Own little forum". I did have a couple of local guys try to register, but they said they were waiting on a email to comfirm. I didn't have that problem, but I did notice that there is a yahoo group that does that ... wonder if they went to the wrong place.
